Eliane is  a chartered civil engineer with an MSc and PhD in civil engineering from Glasgow University and a fellow of  the Institution of Civil Engineer .

He joined Bombardier in 1998 as Maintainability Engineer for Bombardier Voyager fleet. Since then, he has held various technical management positions, including Head of Engineering for Bombardier’s Class 22X fleet maintenance contracts, and project managing development and delivery of Bombardier’s Automated Vehicle Inspection System (AVIS) technology into Bombardier’s Gautrain Maintenance facility in South Africa.

Eric started his railway career in 1991, joining the British Rail Engineering Management Trainee scheme, and working for North Western Regional Railways/First North Western prior to joining Bombardier in 1998.

John Raymond has been heavily involved in big data and internet asset management solutions since 2013. Currently, he is responsible for Thales’ cloud-based asset management solution for railways and metro's around the world.

This uses a secure Internet of Things (IoT) platform, providing analytics and visualisation that builds on a deep understanding of the challenges that face railway customers, all designed to significantly improve safety, reliability, revenue and costs.

Before joining Thales in July 2017, John was IoT sales director for the transportation market with GE Digital. As such, he was responsible for GE's IoT platform PREDIX, which delivers asset management and big data solutions for rail, aviation, marine and mining markets in Europe, delivering outcomes for customers to improve their fleet reliability, cost base and revenue.

This role followed on from John’s time as enterprise solution sales director (EMEA) for GE Transportation, primarily working on big data solutions for rail freight operators.

Jon Jarrett

Jon Jarrett

Crossrail, Head of Infrastructure Crossrail

Jon Jarrett is the Head of Infrastructure for RFLI Crossrail Elizabeth Line. Jon’s career began at British Rail in 1986 delivering asset maintenance and renewals in Kent and South East London, before moving Railtrack as a Infrastructure Contracts and Performance Manager for Anglia, Kent and Wessex Zones.

After leading Infrastructure Maintenance in Woking with Network Rail and working alongside industry partners delivering Portsmouth and Basingstoke re-signalling, Jon joined the Crossrail team in 2008, leading project maintenance specifications for Network Rail that delivered £2.3bn on-network works.

Jon joined Rail for London (RfL) in 2012 as Head of Crossrail Infrastructure and is leading the development and delivery of safe, efficient and performing maintainable railway infrastructure alongside Crossrail colleagues. After the handover in 2018/2019, Jon will lead a new RfL Elizabeth Line Infrastructure Maintenance Stewardship and Renewals organisation.

Julian represents the IAM on the BSI B/555 committee guiding the development of BIM standards and was/is part of the steering committees for PAS 1192-3, BS 1192-4, PAS 1192-5, PAS 185 and PAS 1192-7.

He is also a member of buildingSMART UK & Ireland Operations Committee and is Chair of the BCS Data Management Specialist Group.

Justin Southcombe joined Perpetuum in March 2014 as Commercial Director. He was previously with Alstom Transport where he held senior international roles in tendering, strategy and operations in the rolling stock and infrastructure business units.

He launched Alstom’s remote condition monitoring service, TrainTracer, in 2008 while Strategy Director and secured a multi-million£ R&D programme to develop the service further.

Since joining Perpetuum he has secured contracts in the UK, Australia, the Far East and on the Continent while extending the application of the Perpetuum technology to track, gearboxes and traction motors through a holistic bogie-system strategy built on robust vibration analytics.

Justin holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Surrey, an MBA from INSEAD and is a chartered engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Matthew Justin is a Technical Director in WSP’s UK Rail business. He specialises in helping organisations optimise their asset management activities through identifying, developing and implementing strategies to balance  cost, risk and performance.

Security cleared, he has a wide range of operational management and consultancy experience across aviation, utilities (power & water), defence & transportation (heavy & light rail).

He has undertaken and led condition assessment, degradation modelling, whole life costing, performance improvement, asset planning and general development of asset management systems in the UK, USA, Asia, Australia and Scandinavia.

A qualified Lead Auditor, IAM Endorsed Assessor and EFQM assessor, Matthew has significant experience of gap analysis and certification auditing against PAS55 and ISO 55001. These skills have been used to compliment experience in Continuous Improvement using Six Sigma DMAIC approaches in order to deliver operational and financial savings to processes and operational procedures.

Matthew is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Olly, joined PCSG from specialist consultancy BIM Technologies, and brings a detailed practical knowledge of harnessing digital processes across a wide range of construction organisations, from end-clients to contractors.

He has helped them understand how best to extract value from a BIM approach to construction delivery at both strategic and project level and assisted with the management of the associated cultural challenges brought by digitisation of the industry.

Olly has a background in architecture and works within PCSG’s digital team.

Olly spent three and a half years at BIM Technologies, supporting major asset developers, owners and operators. He started his career as an architectural assistant at the Design Buro Architects, the Midland’s based practice.

His focus is on helping infrastructure owners and operators develop their information-enabled business strategies to: reduce asset management cost whilst managing risk; optimise whole-system performance and investment returns; and empower and engage the front-line workforce using information as an enabler.

Patrick led the development of a Green Book Strategic Outline Business Case (SOBC) for Digital Railway: the digital modernisation of the GB Rail industry, modelling the potential system-wide economic benefit arising from the introduction of digital train command and control systems. Patrick is also the creator of Network Rail’s Asset Information Strategy; a £330 million programme that is delivering improved asset information services for Network Rail and the rest of the rail industry.

Mark is an engineer who over the last thirty years has developed a track record of delivering successful process and technology driven business change programmes from within the Engineering and Construction industry. These include the development of Building Information Modelling (BIM) standards and the integration of engineering and commercial systems.

He chaired the development of the UK Government BIM Strategy which was published in July 2011 as part of the Government Construction Strategy and chaired the UK BIM Task Group which delivered the 2011-2016 Level 2 programme.

Mark is a Chartered Engineer with a PhD in the digital prediction of social outcomes through the built environment. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and member of the British Computer Society. Mark was previously a Director at Scott Wilson Group and Costain Group plc, he has also held positions with John Laing, Kvaerner Construction and GEC Avionics.

Mark was awarded an MBE in the 2011 list for services to construction.

Richard Arrowsmith has recently joined Atkins as a Technical Director for Digital Asset Management bringing with him over 15 years of asset information and strategic asset management experience.

He is a strong advocate for capturing and maintaining high-quality asset data and has championed the use of innovative digital technologies to facilitate efficient asset operations. He is particularly interested in the human factors that surround data and information and believes that a focus on data ergonomics and information culture must be central to any successful asset data and information improvement programme.

Before joining Atkins, Richard worked for Highways England where he led the Asset Information Group. It was here that he directed one of Europe’s largest and most sophisticated highways asset information capture programmes. He also introduced many innovative digital tools, supporting policies and improved working practices that maximised the accuracy and benefits obtained from the organisation's information asset.

Prior to this Richard led the Asset Management Office at the Highways Agency. He was responsible for its design, implementation and operation which also encompassed many aspects of the Agencies strategic asset management approach. This included investment planning and financial allocations, performance management and risk management, as well as, the culture and capability change programme that improved asset management maturity across the organisation.

Richard was educated as an economist, and before his time with the Highways Agency, he worked in a variety of commercial and management roles in Local Authorities and the private sector. He lives in North Worcestershire with his young family, and on those rare occasions, he has some time to himself he is restoring a vintage military motorcycle.

As Head of Stakeholder Engagement for NSAR Stephen was part of an industry innovation impact survey for HS2 and the sector skills gap studies. Separately as part of the Pauley team he has been delivering the digital step change in rolling stock.

More recently moving focus over to infrastructure and winning the Constructing Excellence: Digital Construction Award in collaboration with the contractor for work on BIM at NCHSR.

Stirling Kimkeram co-founded Omnicom in 1995. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) with extensive experience in project management and the development of new and innovative technology systems for the Transportation (Road/Rail) Industry.

He is responsible for all Omnicom’s research and development activities including innovations to existing products and development of new systems. He manages external business partner programs and research activities with academic and professional institutions.

His expertise has been utilised by the European Union where he has served as an expert on Global Navigation Satellite Systems with a strong focus on railways.

Tim Flower

Tim Flower joined the rail industry in 2001, initially working on the MIMS Works Management System implementation.

In 2004, Tim took over management of data quality for London North West route before moving on to management of on track machine planning and maintenance performance.

In 2009 Tim moved to Maintenance HQ to manage automated inspection projects, including Plain Line Pattern Recognition, progressing to become Head of Network Operations Programmes in 2015, delivering the Maintenance Effectiveness Programme and leading on national maintenance issues.

Tim was appointed as Professional Head of Maintenance in July 2016 and is the technical lead for Network Rail’s Intelligent Infrastructure programme, which has an initial budget of £190m in CP6.
